World on Fire: Humanitarian Work and Climate Change
Read the final AIW in its entirety here.
The Unitarian Universalists for Economic Justice welcomes the World on Fire statement. For several decades, the UUJEC has worked for health care reforms and we have also worked for environmental justice. We recognize the need for long-term social justice work, and we recognize the need for good Samaritan work in the here and now.
We ask Unitarian Universalists to support the World on Fire statement at the General Assembly and in their congregations and clusters.

The Unitarian Universalists for a Just Economic Community (UUJEC) endorses the statement as it is a response to Principles one through eight. The highest priority is for an immediate ceasefire, with the return of hostages and respect for human rights. Humanitarian assistance will be needed for years after destroying most of the hospitals, schools, housing and infrastructure.

Despite some reports, the COVID-19 crisis continues. The Unitarian Universalists for a Just Economic Community (UUJEC) endorses the Centering Love statement. Religious organizations should educate congregations and communities about COVID and other respiratory viruses. Centering Love will be helpful as congregations plan for future activities.
