PNHP Program, Monday June 3rd
Quote from WebWeaver on May 22, 2024, 3:32 pmOn Monday evening, June 3rd, at 8 p.m. EDT (7/6/5 across the country), PNHP will host a program on how Medicare (dis)Advantage is not an advantage at all; it takes advantage of seniors who, still relatively healthy, see the short-term savings of a private alternative plan and do not see the potential pitfalls a few years later, as denials and copays mount. Register here for Taking Advantage: How corporate health insurers harm America's seniors.
From the PNHP registration form:
Delays. Denials. Unexpected out-of-pocket costs. Everywhere people with so-called “Medicare Advantage” plans turn, they encounter barriers to the care they need—and the care their physicians have prescribed.
Join us to learn about the many ways that corporate health insurers harm seniors and people with disabilities—and how YOU can fight back. Our program includes:
- Sen. Elizabeth Warren urging advocates (and her fellow legislators) to stand up and reclaim Medicare as a public program
- Dr. Ed Weisbart presenting a new report on the harm caused by Medicare Advantage corporations, researched by Physicians for a National Health Program
- Personal stories of patients and physicians who have been harmed by Medicare Advantage corporations
We’ll also have suggestions on how YOU can take action to end the abuses of corporate health insurance, dramatically improve the traditional Medicare program, and put the U.S. on a path to a Medicare-for-All system that brings everybody in and leaves nobody out.
For those attending GA, a note of thanks to Dr. Weisbart for his gracious sharing of his slides from an earlier presentation for our poster session document.
